Foundation Goals

We have set out to change the course of the future for the blue-footed booby. We may be 2 young boys, but we have big dreams and even bigger goals! We can’t do it alone though, we need your help to save the population! Here is what we are doing.

In 2022, sell a pair of socks for each blue-footed booby in the wild

Fund an expedition researching the reasons for the decline in the blue-footed booby population

Go out of business - that means the blue-footed booby has been saved!

Collaborations

Where does your money go?

The Blue Feet Foundation is partnered with two very influential partners: The Galapagos Conservancy and The Charles Darwin Foundation.

The Galapagos
Conservancy

The Galapagos Conservancy

The Galapagos Conservancy is dedicated exclusively to the long-term protection of the Galapagos Islands where nearly 50% of the population reside. They are the only US organization focused exclusively on protecting the unique ecosystems and biological integrity of the Galapagos archipelago. It has fallen from 20,000 birds in the 1960’s to 6,4000 birds.

The Charles Darwin
Foundation

The Charles Darwin Foundation

The Charles Darwin Foundation for the Galapagos Islands (CDF) is an international non-profit organization dedicated to scientific research. CDF had carried out its mission in the Galapagos since 1959, thanks to an agreement with the Government of Ecuador. The vision of the Charles Darwin Foundation and its Research Station is to ensure a sustainable Galapagos by providing breakthrough research which informs conservation actions and inspires humanity to preserve this extraordinary archipelago and our planet as a whole.

Where do the blue-footed boobies live?

Blue-footed boobies can be found on the western coasts of Central and South America, as well as on the Galápagos Islands. The Galápagos Island population includes about half of all breeding pairs of blue-footed boobies.

The blue-footed boobies can often be found at North Seymour, one of the Galapagos’ seabird breeding grounds.
